Psychotherapy Training and Education
At the Centre for Psychotherapy Education & Research (KCP) we give training in psychotherapy for Karolinska Institute. KCP provides both traditional courses which can be applied for at www.antagning.se, and commissioned programs aimed specifically at employees in Stockholm County Council.
At KCP we have integrated the practical side of training which makes us unique compared with other psychotherapy programs. We collaborate with health centers and psychiatric clinics in the Stockholm area and our students are placed in the various facilities according to how far they have come in their education.
At the start of basic training they are placed in health centers where the patients have minor psychiatric disorders and the students can be closely supervised. During the final year of the psychotherapy program a student may be placed in a psychiatric unit where the patients have more serious disorders.
